- The Orbital pain is described as deep, dull ache behind or in the eye. It is caused by various diseases like Glaucoma, Iritis, Optic neuritis, Sinusitis, Migraines and Traumatic events which comprises of a blow to the eye with a foreign object and motor vehicle collisions
Symptoms of eye pain:
- Pain in and around the eye
- Complete or partial loss of vision
- Colored circles or halos around light
- Cobwebs, spots, strings and shadows around the eye
- Restraint of normal eye movement
- Difficulty in movement of eye
- Bulge or protrusion of eye
- Blood or pus inside the front of the eye
- Excessive tearing, crusting, or eyelids stuck together
- A scratch to the cornea or eyeball
Prevention from the eye pain:
When any of the above symptoms appear one must always perform self care but if the problems still persists, medical treatment is recommended. As par far as the self treatment is concerned, it involves regular eye flush with lukewarm or tap water, contact lenses must be immediately removed (in case of contact lenses users), if any foreign particle enters into the eye rubbing should be avoided as it can worsen the condition and make the particle go deeper in the eye. Its immediate removal is to be done by a doctor.
However, for mild cases of eye discomfort, resting of the eye is also very important.
